William F. Neil
Mr. Neil was born June 22, 1931 in Wyandotte, Michigan, son of the late Richard S. Neil and Gertrude (Torreville) Neil.
Bill graduated from Melrose High School,Northeastern University and he received his Master's from the University of Massachusetts. He was a Certified Public Accountant for many years.He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War.
Bill began his career as a CPA for the US Army and continued with the firms: Haskins & Sells, Currier Citizen, and as a Controller for the TMC Corporation.For many years, Bill was a member of the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants.He was also the owner and operator of A. Baxter and Sons, a local Roofing and Waterproofing company.
Since 1981, Bill was the Treasurer of the Melrose High School Permanent Scholarship Fund.He was a former Executive Director for the Congregational Retirement Homes, Inc. in Melrose, a member of the Melrose Board of Appeals for several years and a past Treasurer of the Bellevue Golf Club.
Bill was a member of the First Congregational Church and a member and past Master of Fidelity Lodge AF&AM in Melrose.
Bill was the beloved husband of the late Carol V. (Nordstrom) Neil.Devoted father of Rhonda L. Neil and her husband, Peter Condron of Rockville, MD, Robert S. Neil and his wife, Patricia Dolan-Neil of Melrose, and William F. Neil, Jr. and his partner, Steven Levy of Los Angeles, CA.Dear brother of Lois Leman and her husband, Arthur of Peabody, Chesley Chapman of Houston, TX and the late Clarence T. Neil.Cherished grandfather of Julia Condron, Brendan Condron both of Rockville, MD and Christopher Neil of Melrose.
