William A. Macleod
Mr. MacLeod was born in Boston September 29, 1924, son of the late William A. MacLeod, Sr. and Ethel (Simonds) MacLeod.
William was a resident of Lynnfield for the past 49 years.
He was a retired civil engineer.Mr. MacLeod was the owner and President of the W. A. MacLeod Company Builders in Boston.
He was a graduate of Melrose High School Class of 1942.He attended Washington and Jefferson University during WWII.Mr. MacLeod was also a graduate of MIT. He was a past president and past secretary of the American Society of Home Inspectors.William was a 33rd degree mason and was a member and past master of the Zetland Lodge AF& AM, Lynnfield, a member of the Aleppo Temple Shrine, Wilmington, Scottish Rite, and a Past worthy Patron of the Lynnfield Order of the Eastern Star.
Mr. MacLeod was a dad advisor for the Lynnfield assembly #87 Order of Rainbow for Girls.Mr. MacLeod served in the Army during WW II and was a member of the Army Engineers.
William was thehusband of Louise D. (Cox) MacLeod with whom he shared 56 years of marriage.Father of Constance M. Hunter and her husband John A. Hunter III of Haddam, CT., Wayne A. MacLeodand his wife Nancy S. of Reading, Marilyn F. Tasso and her husband William J. of Billerica.Grandfather of William J. Tasso III, Kathryn J. Tasso, Julie A. Hunter, Daniel A. Hunter, Samantha A. MacLeod, Catherine E. MacLeod, Duncan A. MacLeod and Whitney A. MacLeod.
Funeral Service at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., MELROSEFriday October 3 at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 6-8 pm. Interment in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose. Gifts in his memory may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 51 Blossom Street, Boston, MA02114.
