Ursula "Uschi" (Stoffel) Kullmann, a lifelong educator and resident of Medford, passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at the age of 70 with family by her side.
Uschi is survived by her children, Jens Kullmann and his wife Jane of Wilmington, Bernd Kullmann and his wife Sharon of Boston, and grandchildren Ellie, Henry, Abby, Zoey, and Emilia. Uschi was the beloved partner of Anthony Loftus. Loving sister of Hedi, Martin, Hans, Willi, and Michaela.She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Born in Cologne, Germany on September 4, 1950, Uschi was one of six children of the late Wilhelm Stoffel and Maria (Pauly) Stoffel and her step-mother Rosemarie (Fink) Stoffel.She grew up in Cologne and graduated from the University of Cologne with a Master of Education.
She moved her family to the United States in 1986.She taught multiple topics including handwork, German, physics, math and loved science.Later in life she worked as a senior aide for dementia patients and taught German at the local community education center.
A lover of the outdoors, Uschi hiked extensively in the Alps and numerous places in the United States.She was an active member of the Appalachian Mountain Club where she served as a leader.She also enjoyed sewing, knitting, doll making, basket weaving, baking, and cooking.
Uschi's love of her family, and friends will be deeply missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather in honor of Ursula's life for Visiting Hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Monday, November 23rd from 4pm-8pm.The family requests everyone to please remember to wear a mask and observe social distancing when you visit.
