Sheila M. (Sullivan) MacPherson, 81, of Salisbury and formerly of Melrose, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, August 7, 2026, at her home.

Born in Winchester on July 5, 1945, she was one of two children of the late Paul H. and Dorothy A. (Duggan) Sullivan. Sheila grew up in Melrose and Wakefield, and she and her family made many happy memories at Old Orchard Beach, Hampton Beach, and York Maine. She was a proud Wakefield High School graduate.

Sheila’s first job was at W. T. Grants in Melrose. Her professional journey continued as she worked for the Wakefield Trust Company and later for Melrose Wakefield Hospital where she retired after an impressive 33 year career. She built lasting friendships and left an indelible mark on the lives of everyone she encountered.

Sheila loved going to Willie Nelson concerts, visiting Walt Disney World, celebrating the holidays, and traveling the country. But for Sheila, the thing that made each of these experiences especially meaningful was being able to share them with the people she loved most: her family and friends.

She met her beloved husband, Allen J. MacPherson, in high school and they were married nearly 60 years ago at Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Wakefield on October 8, 1966. They settled in Melrose to raise their family, building a home of love and strength. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud Nana.

Sheila was the unofficial manager and co-captain of Allen’s long and successful country music career. Together, they helped raise thousands of dollars for local charities at music events, and they made lifelong friends that remain after the band retired.

A true Irishman like her father, her “high holiday” was St. Patrick’s Day. She always wore green and looked forward to a delicious corned beef and cabbage dinner.

She was always up for an adventure whether it was riding the fastest roller coasters, flying the red eye across the country, or finding a great bargain shopping. She had a keen eye for decorating (a trait she inherited from her mother) and she effortlessly infused warmth and charm into every room of her home.

Sheila had a unique gift for staying connected with loved ones, often sharing handwritten notes and cards that brightened their days. She will be remembered not only for her vibrant and spunky personality but also for the love she shared with her family and friends and the legacy she leaves behind.

Sheila was the beloved wife of Allen J. MacPherson. Devoted mother of Kimberly J. Court and her husband John of Middletown, DE and Kerri L. MacPherson of Winter Garden, FL. Cherished grandmother of Matthew Lampe, Olivia Court, and Bridget “Beah” Court. Dear sister of Paul E. Sullivan and his wife Joanne of Springvale, ME. Also survived by her cousin Joyce M. Graham of Billerica and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to gather in honor of Sheila’s life during Visiting Hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose, on Wednesday, August 12 from 4-7pm and again on Thursday, August 13 for her Funeral Service celebrated at 10:30am.
