Mrs. Sandra A. (Whynot) Carrano, of Stoneham, died at home on Friday, March 1, 2024. She was 81.
Sandra was born August 22, 1942 in Winchester. She was raised in Woburn by her father, the late Frank Cirone and mother Julia Ann (Whynot) Cirone. Sandra graduated from Woburn High School in 1960. She married Charles S. Carrano on July 5, 1962 in Church of the Immaculate Conception, Winchester, and they were married 37 years until his death on September 15, 1999.
Sandra and Charles traveled abroad extensively with a troupe of entertainers for Duncan Yo-Yo in the 1960’s. Their many adventures together included extended stays in Australia, Fiji, Hawaii, Mexico, Columbia, Argentina, and Peru. They were highly devoted to their daughter Sherri A. Carrano (born 1967) who was born with multiple disabilities and required extraordinary care. They were proud and loving parents to Charles S. Carrano, Jr. (born 1968) as well, whom they also raised in Stoneham.
In addition to her late husband, Charles Sr., she was predeceased by their daughter Sherri and Sandra’s brother, Robert Whynot. She leaves her son, Charles S. Carrano Jr. and his wife, Francine Gail Trester of Newton; her granddaughter, Chloe Trester Carrano; her brother, Frank Cirone Jr. and his wife, Mary of Wilmington; her sister-in-law, Donna Whynot of Tewksbury; nieces & nephews.
Family and friends are invited to honor Sandra’s life during visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose, on Wednesday, March 6th from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. and again on Thursday at 9 a.m. before leaving in procession to St. Patrick’s Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham.
