Ruby L. Colclough
Born on September 30, 1910 in Enfield, New Hampshire, she was one of six children of the late Harris E. Creighton and Ada (French) Creighton.
Ruby was raised in Malden and graduated from Malden High School.For many years, she worked for Commercial Filters Corporation in Melrose as Treasurer of the Credit Union.She had also worked at Tufts University, AT&T as an operator, and Melrose-Wakefield Hospital as the switchboard operator.Ruby enjoyed sewing, oil painting, and acting as a volunteer to help the elderly in Melrose and at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.She was also a longtime and devoted member of the Green Street Baptist Church.
Mrs. Colclough was the beloved wife of the late John C. Colclough with whom she shared 46 years of marriage.Devoted mother of Jacqueline A. Handspicker and her husband Brian P. of McKinney, TX, John C. Colclough II and his wife Dorothy of Westlake Village, CA and Douglas E. Colclough and his wife Janet of Meredith, NH.Dear sister of the late J. Leonard Creighton, R. Edgar Creighton, Harold C. Creighton, Doris M. Beers, and Ernest A. Creighton.Cherished grandmother of Brian, Brooke, Heidi, Holly, Skye, Mark, Michael, and Karen.Loving great grandmother of Kelsey, Brian, Brett, Ryan, Rebecca, Shane, Ryan, and Dylan.Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service to celebrate and remember Ruby's life in the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose, Saturday, October23 at 10 AM.Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.Visiting hours Friday 4-8 PM.Interment in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
