Rosemary (Norton) Morris

Rosemary (Norton) Morris, a longtime resident of Melrose, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, April 28, 2025, at age 95.

Rosemary was born on May 9, 1929, one of seven children of the late Leo M. Norton and Katherine M. (Sorensen) Norton. Born and raised in Malden, she attended Chevrus School and graduated from Marycliff Academy. She has resided in Melrose since 1964. She enjoyed walking, reading, and a special group of friends during her 30 year membership at the Melrose YMCA.

Rosemary was the beloved wife of the late James F. Morris with whom she shared 53 years of marriage. Devoted mother of Fr. James F. Morris Jr. and his wife Joy of Salem, Kathleen Doyle and her husband James of Melrose, Michael L. Morris and his wife Susan of Melrose, Richard F. Morris and his partner Peggy O'Leary of W. Roxbury, Kevin J. Morris and his wife Diane of Exeter, NH, Timothy E. Morris and his wife Maria of Melrose, Thomas J. Morris of Melrose and his partner Susan Bicchieri of Medford, and Robert S. Morris and his wife Cindy of Hebron, ME. Dear sister of Richard F. Norton, Paul Norton, Kathleen Magner and the late Alfred J. Norton, Leo M. Norton Jr., and Edward J. Norton. Cherished grandmother of Danny, Margaret, Eric, Kevin, Katie, Patrick, Courtney, Kristin, Jennifer, Michael, Sean, Timothy, Delaney, Bethany, Zachary, Siobhan, Olivia, and Gretchen. Loving great-grandmother of Mia, Jimmy, Anna, Maisy, Frances, Brendan, Cameron, Grace, Caleb, Declan, Sloane, Adeline, Andrew, Colin, Paige, Bailey, Leo, Enzo, Eloy, Ryan, Matthew, Tess, Addison, Blake, Sophia, Benedicta, and Rosemary.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather during Visiting Hours at Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Monday, May 5 from 3-7pm, and for her Funeral Mass at Incarnation Church, 425 Upham St., Melrose on Tuesday, May 6 at 10am. Interment in Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden.
