Roger C. Wilder, 86 of Melrose died Wednesday morning, March 1, 2006 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. Roger was born March 4, 1919 in Melrose, son of the late William W. Wilder and Mary E. (Colby) Wilder. Roger was raised in Melrose and graduated from Melrose High School and Northeastern University.He was Business Manager at Emerson College for 23 years and was a long-time member of the Unitarian-Universalist Church in Melrose.He was a summer resident for many years at Bow Lake in New Hampshire, where he was captain of the "Jolly Roger" at Bow Lake. Roger was a member of the Bow Lake Community Club, a long-time member and former Director of the Bow Lake Camp Owners Association and he served as an officer in the United States Army during World War II. Roger was the loving husband of Marion (Dickman) Wilder and the late Edith M. (Decker) Wilder. Devoted father of Mark A. Wilder and his wife, Betty of Reading, Scott E. Wilder and his partner, David Ebert of Westford and Gregg S. Wilder and his wife, Lisa of Strafford, NH.Brother of the late Theodore R. Wilder.Grandfather of Douglas M. Wilder of Reading,Linsay R. Wilder and Nathaniel W. Wilder, both of Strafford, NH and the late Andrew A. Wilder.
