Mr. Lufkin was born April 9, 1913 in Gloucester, MA, son of the late William Lufkin and Ella (Lane) Lufkin.
Mr. Lufkin was raised an educated in Gloucester.He was a graduate of Boston University, class of 1935 and received his Masters Degree from Boston University in 1936.He was a Math teacher's assistant at Boston University.He served in the United States Army during WWII. He had worked for Craftsman Life Insurance Co. as Personnel Manager for 27 years.Mr. Lufkin had previously lived in Melrose (from 1940 to 2002) moving to Saugus in 2002. He and his wife, Stella (Franchey) Lufkin had shared 7 years of marriage.He was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church of Melrose.He had belonged to the National Early American Glass Club and the Order of Masons.Mr. Lufkin was an avid sailor and had won many races.
