Mr. Ralph R. Macaulay of Melrose died Wednesday evening December 29, 2004 at the Harborside Healthcare Nursing Home in Wakefield.
Ralph was born September 20, 1923 in Medford, MA, son of the late Walter Macaulay and Mary E. (Robertson) Macaulay.
Ralph grew up in Medford, graduated from Medford High School and served in the Army during WWII.From 1946-1985, he was the owner and operator of Macaulay Vacuum Cleaner Store in Melrose.Ralph was a Trustee at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.He was also a long time member of the First Baptist Church, Melrose and the Theater Organ Society.He was one of the founding members of the Northshore Home Organ Society, Melrose.Ralph was also a member of the North Suburban Organ Society, the Organ Club of Framingham, the Northshore Old Car Club and the Samuel Crocker Lodge AF&AM of Medford.
Ralph was the former husband of the late Sylvia F. (MacGuire) Macaulay.Father of Scott E. Macaulay of Melrose, Kathryn I. Reid of Ware, NH and Bruce A. Macaulay of Lowell.He was the grandfather of Walter T. Macaulay of Saugus and Wayne, Keith, Jonathan, Kathryn and Adrianna Reid all of Ware, NH.Ralph was a long-time friend of Barbara Fletcher of Arlington.
Memorial Service at the First Baptist Church, 561 Main St., Melrose Saturday, January 8, 2005 at 10:30AM.Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Gifts in his memory may be made to the Memorial Fund at the Church.
