Pauline M. Buszkiewicz, of Melrose, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at Massachusetts General Hospital. She was 75.

Born on January 5, 1950, in Lawrence, MA, Pauline was the eldest of four children of the late Anthony and Vincenza (Lomastro) Kowalewski. Pauline was the devoted mother of James Buszkiewicz and his wife Laura Bicknell of Seattle, WA. Loving sister of Anthony Kowalewski and his wife Brenda of Amesbury, Stanley Kowalewski and his wife Paula of Lawrence and the late Robert Kowalewski and his surviving wife Maryjane. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Her life was characterized by her unwavering dedication to caring for others. Pauline was raised in Lawrence and lived in Malden and Everett before eventually settling in Melrose, where she raised her family. Pauline was proud of being a mother and was exceptionally involved in the lives of her family, whom she adored.

She graduated from Lawrence High School and The Holy Ghost School of Nursing. After beginning her career, she went on to further her education. Obtaining her RN and degree at Catherine Laboure College. Pauline spent her entire 47-year nursing career at The Massachusetts General Hospital. She was a Case Manager with the Burn Service until her retirement in 2016.

Pauline loved being a nurse, and her warm, generous, and thoughtful spirit touched the lives of countless patients and colleagues alike.

Pauline found joy and solace in gardening. As well as a deep love for animals and nature-especially her cherished cats-and exploring the beauty of the natural world. Her heart remained forever drawn to the picturesque landscapes of Acadia and the White Mountains.
