Owen F. Alley

Owen F. Alley of Lynnfield, a retired Real Estate and Insurance Broker, passed away peacefully on Monday morning February 18, 2008 in Oosterman’s Rest Home in Melrose.

Owen was born March 13, 1917 in Bangor, Maine, son of the late Reverend Leon J. Alley and Ethelyn (Kneeland) Alley.

Owen was a  34 year resident of Lynnfield and formerly a long time resident of Melrose.  He graduated from Melrose High School and was the retired owner of Williams and Alley Insurance Agency in Melrose. Owen was a member of the Eastern Middlesex and National Real Estate Associations, the Society of Real Estate Appraisers, the Veterans Administration Appraisal Panel and the MA Board of Real Estate Appraisers.

Owen was the beloved husband of Gertrude B. “Trudie” (Kelloway) Alley with whom he shared 70 years of marriage.  Devoted father of Ronald W. Alley and his companion Kathleen Constantino of Wakefield and Joan A. Haynes and her husband Dr. Henry D. Haynes of  Lynnfield.  Cherished grandfather of Ronald W. Alley Jr. of Melrose, Scott C. Alley of Wilmington, Keirsten A.B. Obayashi of Stanford, CA, Todd A.D. Haynes of Merrimac, David W.D. Haynes of Hudson, Andrew O.D. Haynes of Wilmington and Alicia J. Haynes of Lynnfield.  Also survived by 8 great grandchildren.

Funeral Service at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose Thursday, February 21 at  11 AM.   Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.  Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8 PM.  Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Wakefield.
