Olive Glenna McCormack, a long-time resident of Stoneham, died peacefully on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at Melrose- Wakefield Hospital, five months shy of her 100th birthday.
Glenna was born on March 2, 1927 in Stoneham, one of three children of the late James and Olive J. (MacPhee) McCormack. Her siblings, Robert McCormack and Jean Merrifield, predeceased her as well as her niece Lisa McCormack. She is survived by her loving nieces and nephew: Susan Merrifield, Sandra Gormley, Kathy Wright and Bruce Merrifield. In addition, she leaves behind 12 great nieces and nephews.
Glenna was a graduate of Newton High School and Katherine Gibbs School. She worked as a bookkeeper for several businesses including the American Unitarian Association, Seven- Up and the New England Motor Rate Bureau.
She was a loving aunt her family will long cherish, and she will be remembered for her quirky sense of humor, beautifully decorated gifts, her funny and meaningful phone calls, and the love and concern she gave to her family throughout her life.
Family and friends are invited to gather in honor of Glenna’s life for her Funeral Service at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main Street, Melrose, on Thursday, October 8 at 10:30 am. Interment at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
