Mr. Merrill C. "Jim" Swim, 86 of Revere, formerly of Winchester, died Sunday, February 12, 2006 at the VA Hospital in West Roxbury.
Mr. Swim was born October 17, 1919 in Clarks Harbor, Nova Scotia, CN, son of the late Merrill A. Swim and Vera (Maxwell) Swim.
Jim was a graduate of Belmont High School.He served in the United States Army during WWII.He worked as a salesman for United States Steel for 41 years.He was an avid golfer and member of the Woburn Country Club.He was also a member of the VFW Post in Winchester and was affiliated with the Point of Pines Yacht Club in Revere.As a child, he summered in Clarks Harbor, Nova Scotia, CN.
Jim was the beloved husband of the late Agatha (Poppoff) Swim.Devoted father of Charles R. Swim of Melrose and Bruce W. Swim of Winchester.Brother of Eldon C. Swim and his wife June of Malden and the late Marjorie K. VanHess.Beloved friend of the late Helen Clark of Revere and her 3 sons, Ronnie Clark of Revere, Bobby Clark of Peabody and Dickie Clark of Nashua, NH. Grandfather of Deven Swim of Quincy, Sandra Swim of Melrose, Sherry Clark and Chris Clark.
