Marion (Ayer) Sherwood

Mrs. Marion (Ayer) Sherwood, a longtime resident of Melrose, passed away on Tuesday morning, November 2, 2010 at the Life Care Center of Stoneham after a period of declining health.She was 82 years old. Born in Melrose on October 17, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Thomas P. Ayer and Hazel (Moulton) Ayer.Marion was raised in Melrose where she graduated from Melrose High School.For many years, she worked in Boston as the Chief Accountant for the American Baptist Churches of Massachusetts.She was also an active member of the First Baptist Church of Milton.Mrs. Sherwood is predeceased by her husband, Reverend Everett A. Sherwood.She is survived by her stepdaughter, Judy Patton and her husband Jimmie of Harrisville, NH; and nephew, David Ayer of Mariposa, CA.

Funeral Services will be held privately at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody on Monday, November 8, 2010.Arrangements by the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose.
