Mrs. Zimmerman was born in Charlestown on May 23, 1921, a daughter of the late Frank Wandelear and Helen (Enos) Wandelear.
Marie was raised in Malden and graduated from Malden High School.For many years, she worked for the City of Malden as a clerk for the Registrar of Voters.Marie loved her home that her husband, Ed proudly designed and built on Swains Pond Avenue in Melrose.She and her husband lived there for many years and cherished all of the happy memories and the countless joys of being a homemaker.
Marie shared 62 years of loving marriage with her dear and beloved husband, the late Edwin J. "Ed" Zimmerman.She was the loving mother of Edwin J. "Skip" Zimmerman and his wife, Angela of Malden, James R. Zimmerman and his wife, Mary of Tewksbury and Paul David Zimmerman of Lynn.Sister of the late Helen Barratt.She was the cherished grandmother of Michael and his wife Nicole Zimmerman, Nicole, Jay, Jeff, Brian, Kevin and the late James R. Zimmerman, Jr.and5 great-grandchildren.
