Kenneth M. Werner, resident of Saugus, passed away peacefully at EN Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford. He was 96
Born in Boston on July 13, 1928, Ken was the son of William and Margaret (Mitchell) Werner. He grew up in Everett, where he graduated from Everett High School in 1945. After high school, he proudly served his country in the Navy during World War II, exemplifying the dedication and commitment that would define his life.
Following his military service, Ken settled in Wakefield for a time before establishing his roots in Saugus, where he would spend many cherished years. He dedicated 18 years of his life to working as a plumber before going on to own his own plumbing business, which he operated for 25 successful years. His craftsmanship and work ethic were admired by many, establishing him as a respected figure in the local community.
Outside of his professional accomplishments, Ken had a passion for life that shone through in his hobbies and interests. He found joy in tending to his garden and was an avid bowler, even touring as a professional bowler for a time. Ken's love for the sport brought him happiness and countless memories shared with friends and fellow bowlers.
Ken is remembered for his kindness, his quiet strength, and the warmth he offered to those around him. He will be missed and lovingly remembered.
Ken was the beloved husband of the late Georgina (Shattuck) Werner. Loving uncle of Donna Jean Weaver of Las Vegas, NV, and the late Randy Crowe. Also survived by numerous great nieces and nephews, his late sister-in-law's Evelyn Crowe and Lillian Normine, and his special friends Ken Mitchell of FL, Dave Oram of NH, and Allen Emory and his wife Elena and their daughter Katrina of Saugus.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather in honor of Ken on Friday, May 30th for a graveside service at Woodlawn Cemetery, 302 Elm St., Everett (meet at cemetery) at 2pm.
