Kathleen R. Corso D'Aloisio

Mrs. Kathleen R. (Deary) Corso D'Aloisio, a longtime resident of Melrose, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at Woburn Nursing Center, at age 81.

Kathy was born in Boston, one of four children of the late James P. Deary and Rita A. (Saulnier) Deary. She was raised in the West End of Boston, graduated from Cathedral High School in Boston, and forever remained proud of her roots as a true "Westender." Kathy settled in Melrose in 1961 to raise a family of three children, and devoted herself to her family, and many longtime friends.

Kathy loved life surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was truly a loyal and caring woman, who always put others first while never asking for anything in return. Family always came first for Kathy, as she always said, "with each great-grandchild born, I get greater and greater."While her children were in school, Kathy enjoyed her work as a lunch mother at St. Mary's, spending time surrounded by children, and the students in turn loved her.

Kathy was very proud of her Irish heritage, loved wearing green, and had a great appreciation and love for the ocean. A loyal friend, she loved her annual trip with friends to Ogunquit and always remained connected to her friends from the West End. Kathy will be missed, but generations of her family will treasure the memory of her singing for years to come, "I love you, a bushel and a peck, and a hug around the neck"

Kathleen was the devoted mother of Kevin J. Corso & his wife Judith of Melrose, Janice Conte & her husband David of Reading, and Patricia Marchant of Acton. Dear sister of Maureen McDevitt of Lexington, Thomas Deary of Boston, and the late James Deary. Cherished grandmother of Christine Corso-LeDuc, Katie Shamberger and her husband Josh, Alyssa Conte, Rochelle Rondon and her husband Danny, Nadine Marchant, and James Marchant. Loving great-grandmother of Tyler, Kassidy, Kelsey, Joshua, Mia, Danny, Ethan, and Conor. Also survived by a special nephew, Michael Deary of Melrose, & many other loving nieces & nephews. Former wife of Gino W. D'Aloisio of Melrose & the late I. Joseph Corso.
