Mrs. June J. (deSteuben) Vickery, a longtime Melrose resident, died unexpectedly Thursday, March 16, 2006 in her home. She was 79 years old.
She leaves her husband of 54 years, Edwin H. Vickery; her children, Janice A. Queen and her husband, Robert of Tallahassee, Florida, Nancy A. D'Amato and her husband Joseph of Dracut, and Stephen E. Vickery of Ayer and his companion Corrine Corso and her son, Alex Gardiakiotos of Haverhill. She also leaves seven grandchildren, Benjamin and Megan Queen, Lindsay, Heather and Matthew Vickery, Sarah and Brandon D'Amato; a brother, Thomas J. deSteuben of Derry, New Hampshire and the late Albert E. deSteuben, Jr. and Edgar R. deSteuben. June was born, March 18, 1926 in Salerno, Florida, the daughter of the late Albert E. and Annetta M. (Claggett) deSteuben. She was raised in Saugus and has been a resident of Melrose since 1951.
Mrs. Vickery retired from the Gas Electric Employees Credit Union. She had worked previously at the former Cabot Stain Company in Boston, the Town Line House and Sears Roebuck Co.
