Miss June B. Hutchins, of Stoneham, formerly of Melrose, died Saturday, June 6, 2009 in Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston. She was 86.
June was born on June 3, 1923 in Melrose a daughter of the late Fred L. and Hilda O. (Wettergreen) Hutchins and lived most of her life in the Melrose and Stoneham areas. She was a graduate of Melrose High School.
Miss Hutchins worked as an Assistant Vice President for Municipal Bonds at the former Boston Safe Deposit & Trust Company in Boston. She later moved to their Malden location and was employed with the bank for over 46 years, retiring in 1988.
She is survived by her cousins, Judith Wye Dvorak of Queensland, Australia, Bradford Wye of Adamstown, MD, Kerry J. Wynnyk and her husband Peter of Burbank, CA, Nika Wynnyk of San Francisco, CA, Nicole Wynnyk of Albuquerque, NM, Natasha Wynnyk of Santa Barbara, CA and Ry Dvorak of Queensland, Australia.
June was very active in The First United Methodist Church in Melrose where she was a longtime member of its choir; semi circle of the United Methodist Women and served on the church Board of Trustees. She was a 30-year resident of Park Terrace Condominiums in Stoneham and a member of the association's Board of Directors. June loved her beloved City of Melrose and always considered herself a lifelong Melrose resident. She enjoyed classical music and attending Symphony Hall in Boston for various concerts. She was well traveled having visited many countries throughout the world. She remained very close to her extended family and host of friends.
