Mrs. Judith E. "Judy" (Hansis) Davies, a longtime resident of Stoneham, passed away suddenly on Wednesday June 9, 2010 at home.She was 73 years old.
Judy was born on September 30, 1936 in Medford, the daughter of the late George Hansis and Eleanor (Maynard) Hansis.
She was raised and educated in Arlington and graduated from Simmons College.Judy worked as the Secretary at First Baptist Church of Stoneham for 30 years and was a member the Green Street Baptist Church in Melrose.At First Baptist in Stoneham, she headed the weekly meetings of the Bible Study Group.She enjoyed her weekly craft projects and loved travelling throughout the world.
She was the beloved wife of the late Robert C. Davies with whom she shared 51 years of marriage.Devoted mother of Kenneth W. Davies and his wife Deborah of Andover, Russell W. Davies and his spouse Jeffrey Howlett of Arlington, and Samuel P. Davies and his wife Jennifer of Ipswich.Cherished grandmother of Katherine and Duncan Davies both of Andover, and Amy Rivera and Anthony Adams both of Arlington.
Funeral Service at the Green Street Baptist Church, 179 Green St., Melrose, Monday, June 14 at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday from 2 - 6 PM.Gifts in memory of Judy may be made to the Green Street Baptist Church, 179 Green St., Melrose 02176.
