John G. Pento, 75
of Melrose died Thursday evening November 25, 2004 at the Bedford VA Hospital in Bedford, MA after a long illness with Alzheimers Disease. John was born in Everett, MAFebruary 22, 1929, son of the late Angelo Pento and Rose (Lafreniere) Pento. John has been a resident of Melrose since 1968 and was an Industrial Engineer at GTE in Needham for many years. He had a long illness of Alzheimers Disease and was cared for solely by his loving daughter Linda (Pento) Cook of Melrose. John served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
John was the devoted husband of the late Rose M. (Sciacchitano) Pento and the loving father of Linda M. (Pento) Cook and her husband David J. Cook of Melrose,Karen J. LaBonte of Sandown, NH, and the late Keith J. Pento. Brother of Patrick Pento of Edgewater, FL, Mary Vassallo of Amherst and the late Angelo Pento, Jr., Tony Pento and Phyllis Iammarino. John was the grandfather of Christopher LaBonte and Matthew LaBonte.He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
