John E. Orrell
John was born in Melrose June 26, 1947, son of the late Charles Orrell and Jennie Orrell.
John for many years was the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of South Texas Blood and Tissue Center.John was raised in Melrose, graduated from the Melrose Public Schools and Trinity University in San Antonio, TX.He was an Army Medic during the Vietnam War and was the recipient of the Bronze Star.
John was the husband of Gayla Nagy Orrell of San Antonio, TX and the former husband of Susan (Caruth) Orrell. He was the father of Leslie A. Orrell and Courtney B. Orrell both of San Antonio, TX.Stepfather of KimCantwell and Shane Nagy both of San Antonio, TX.Also survived by 7 grandchildren.Brother of the late Charles H.Orrell. John was the brother-in-law ofBrenda M. Orrell of Melrose.Uncle of Jennifer M. Santoro and her husband David of Bedford, Heather J. Orrell of Plymouth, formerly of Melrose and Elizabeth A. Orrell and Charles E. Orrell both of Melrose.Great uncle of Jessica M. Durland and Robert D. Santoro both of Bedford. AMilitary Service with Memorial Services followingwas held at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, TX.
