John F. Mansolilli

John F. Mansolilli, resident of Stoneham and formerly of Melrose, peacefully passed away on November 28, 2023, at his residence at the age of 75.  John leaves behind a legacy defined by his vibrant spirit, resilience, and a life well-lived.

John was born in Chelsea on February 10, 1948, one of seven children of the late Constantino and Mary Stella (Boudreau) Mansolilli.  Growing up in Melrose, John attended and graduated from Melrose High School, where he cultivated lifelong friendships and discovered his love for hockey.

His fondest memories were of flying model planes with his father, helping his father at his jewelry store with clock and watch repairs, and playing ice hockey on Ell Pond with his friends.  As a young man, John's passion for automobiles ignited, and he found solace in fixing and renovating cars, a hobby he pursued with unwavering dedication.

An embodiment of athleticism, John lived life to the fullest. He reveled in the thrill of skiing down mountains, the exhilaration of zooming through snow on his snowmobile, and the serenity of spending time out on the water while boating. His adventurous spirit knew no boundaries.

Professionally, John owned and operated J&M Flooring, where his meticulous work ethic and dedication to excellence earned him the respect and admiration of his peers. His commitment to providing exceptional craftsmanship was matched only by his commitment to his family.

For John, family was everything. A devoted father, they shared countless cherished moments at their cabin on Moussam Lake in Maine, where laughter echoed, and memories were woven.

Beyond his passion for sports and his professional success, John found joy in reading, and practicing the art of model ship building. He could often be found engrossed in a captivating book or painstakingly constructing model ships, cherishing the beauty and intricate details they displayed.

John's infectious laughter brightened every room he entered, and his quick wit and playful sense of humor brought joy to all who knew him. He will always be remembered for his ability to lift spirits and bring people together with his lighthearted nature.

John was the devoted father of Michelle Willis and her husband Chris of Wilmington, and Dawna Mansolilli of Stoneham.  Loving brother of Joan Smith of North Andover, Nancy Baer and her late husband Alan of Peabody, the late Richard Mansolilli, James Mansolilli, Carol DelRossi, and Paul Mansolilli and his surviving wife Suzanne.  Proud grandfather of Hunter Ward and Cameron and Evan Willis.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather for visiting hours at Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Tuesday, Dec. 5 from 4-7pm, and again on Wednesday for his Funeral Service celebrated at 10am.  Interment in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of John can be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Assication, WEB PO Box 7410354, Chicago, IL. 60674-0354.
