Jane L. Jones, long time resident of Melrose, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 12, 2024, at her home. She was 83. Born in Cambridge on November 28, 1940, Jane was one of two children of the late John B. Jones and Marion (Laurie) Reppucci and the late Alfred “Pop” Reppucci.
Growing up in Somerville and Melrose, Jane graduated from Melrose High School in 1960 and dedicated her career to John Hancock Insurance. She was deeply cherished by her colleagues and made lasting friendships during her time there. Known for her generous spirit and warm demeanor, Jane was always willing to lend a helping hand and brought joy to those around her.
Jane had a passion for travel and ventured to countless destinations, creating cherished memories along the way. Her love for elephants and collecting beautiful treasures reflected her vibrant personality and adoration for life's wonders. She held a special place in her heart for Acadia National Park, Booth Bay Harbor, and the scenic landscapes of New Hampshire, where she found solace and tranquility.
Jane's love for her great nieces knew no bounds, as she showered them with affection and treated them as her own. Her kindness, humor, and unwavering support made her a trusted confidant to many, always ready to listen and offer guidance.
In her retirement, Jane embarked on a memorable cross-country journey with her best friend, Beverly, embracing new adventures and experiences.
Her legacy of love, laughter, and friendship will forever be treasured by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
Jane was the beloved companion of Robert Rubman. Dear sister of David M. Jones of Melrose. Loving aunt of Nicole L. Jones and her partner Ernest Weathersby of Leominster, and David C. Jones and his wife Julie of Middleton. Devoted great aunt of Evelyn Madison, Caitlin Jane, Victoria, and Elizabeth Jones. She also dearly loved the family cat Frankie, late dog Pudgy and grand dog Izzy.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather in honor of Jane’s life during visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Thursday, July 18 from 4-7pm, and on Friday for her Funeral Service celebrated at 10am. Interment at Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Jane’s memory may be made to the Animal Rescue Leage of Boston, C/O Development, 10 Anna’s Place, Dedham, MA. 02026.
