James R. Faro, resident of Malden, formerly of Melrose and Saugus, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at a Medford healthcare facility on Friday, December 4, 2020.He was 88.
Born in Winthrop on January 18, 1932, he one of six children of the late James and Antonietta (Bordinaro) Faro.He grew up in Winthrop graduating from Winthrop High School in 1949 and later graduating from Bentley College.
James was drafted into the United States Army in 1952, serving as a Food Inspector in New Orleans during the Korean War.He was honorably discharged as a Corporal in 1954.
James had a strong work ethic from an early age.He was an owner, operator, and treasurer of Bay State Lobster Company.He worked hard to provide a good life for his family.
He loved his family and time spent with them.He was active in his children's lives and enjoyed going on adventures with his brothers.They went on cross country trips, enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas, New Orleans, and going on scenic drives to Gloucester and Maine.He also enjoyed watching the Red Sox and Patriots.
He will be deeply missed.
James was the beloved husband of the late Santina (Frazzica) Faro with whom he shared 35 years of marriage.Cherished father of Helena Midkiff and her husband Keith of Metairie, LA, James W. Faro and his wife Marie of N. Andover, Cheryl Lonergan and her husband Pat of New Orleans, LA, Annette Zagarella and her husband Rocco of Saugus, and Richard J. Faro and his wife Kristen of Wakefield.Loving brother of Angelo Faro and his late wife Anna, twin Richard Faro and his late wife Christine, Salvatore Faro and his wife Lorraine, the late Joseph P. Faro and his surviving wife Evelyn, and Ventura Faro. Proud grandfather of Jennifer, Nicolette, Cassandra, Jimmy Jr., PJ, Molly Rose, Rocco, Rachel, Olivia, and Ava.He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
Due to the current health crisis, all services for James will be private.Interment with Military Honors provided by the United States Army at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.
