Obituary

James L. Boyer, aged 67, of Salem, NH, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2026.

Born March 24, 1958, in Melrose, to William H. and Patricia A. (Leonard) Boyer, Jim was a man whose joyful spirit and love for life touched all who knew him. A proud graduate of the Northeast Regional Vocational School in Wakefield, Jim followed his passion for construction by joining the Carpenters Union, where he dedicated his career as a carpenter until retirement.

His hands were skilled, but it was his heart that defined his life - always eager to lend a helping hand around the house, making sure everything was in good working order, to making sure he made time to spend with his beloved family.

Jim was a fun-loving individual who truly enjoyed life's simple pleasures. He found joy in skiing and cheered passionately for his favorite NASCAR drivers, relishing every thrilling moment on and off the track. He also relished the thrill of boat races around New England with the Outboard Association. Weekends spent with family were his favorites, often enjoyed on sunny days in Gloucester or around the warmth of the home he so lovingly maintained.

Jim was the beloved son of William and Patricia Boyer.
Beloved husband of Sharon L. (Murphy) Boyer with whom he shared 7 years of marriage. Father of Nicole Boyer and the late Brooke Boyer. Loving brother of Joseph E. Boyer and his wife Nancy of Wellesley, Barbara J. Riley and her late husband Scott, and John R. Boyer and his wife Debra of Freemont, NH. He is predeceased by his previous wife Patricia L. "Samy" Macchione-Boyer. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Services will be announced at a later date.
