Obituary

J. Allen Hillson, longtime resident of Malden, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, at age 81.

He was born on August 28, 1944 in Malden, one of seven children of the late Stewart B. Hillson and Eunice M. (Moulaison) Hillson.

Allen, as he was known to all, attended Project Triangle in Malden as a youth. Hard working and reliable, he worked in maintenance at Woodlawn Manor Nursing Home in Everett for 25 years until his retirement.

Allen was a fan of professional wrestling all his life. He had a love for electronic gadgets and collected many. Mr. Hillson was devoted to his large family, in particular his younger sister Elaine Marcin who became his caregiver.

He is survived by his sister Nancy Medaglio of Salem NH, his brother Paul V. Hillson of Malden, his sister Elaine Marcin of Malden, twelve nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers C. Dennis Hillson, Roy V. Hillson, as well as his eldest sister Marion Marini.

Relatives and friends are warmly invited to gather during visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Wednesday, January 7 from 4-7pm, and on Thursday at 8:45am before leaving in procession to Sacred Hearts Church, 297 Main St., Malden for his Funeral Mass celebrated at 10am. Interment in Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden.
