Geraldine Sirois

Geraldine (Petrucci) Sirois of Yellow Springs, Ohio was called home to the Lord on June 11, 2025. She was 80. Born August 3, 1944, in Medford, MA, Geraldine grew up in Wakefield and graduated from Wakefield High School class of 1962.

Geraldine is the daughter of the late Americo Petrucci and the late Julia (Clementi) Petrucci of Wakefield, sister of the late Ronald J. Petrucci and his late wife Rebekah Moniz of Wakefield.

Geraldine had a difficult early childhood with her mother being bedridden and hospitalized for many years. A devout Catholic her entire life, Geraldine was deeply close with her brother Ronald. They were very different personalities, yet shared many joys through the years, comforted one another through many life struggles, especially with the loss of their beloved mother Julia as young adults.

Geraldine was employed for several years with L.B. Evans in Wakefield. She was family focused, hardworking and driven to support and help her family.

In July 1966 Geraldine welcomed her first child, a daughter, Wendy Anne. The duties of single parenthood brought a deep bond with her daughter. Wendy Anne became her life. In February 1973, Geraldine made the most loving, caring decision to adopt two young maternal orphaned brothers, Michael, 9 years, and Philip, 7 years. She then relocated to Swampscott, MA where her new family of three young children were showered in love, stability and great care by Geraldine, each child always treated equally well. In 1979 Geraldine relocated to Northern California with her family. She became employed with the State of California Franchise Tax Board in Sacramento for over 30 years.

The greatest gift in Geraldine's life came in early September of 1982. For years she considered having another child. But God had a different plan... God's gift of the birth of beautiful twins, Amanda and Matthew. Suddenly there were five children in Geraldine's world, for which Geraldine managed all the joys, difficulties, and chaos. Her two youngest children became the greatest stability and joy in her life as her three older teenage children left home for college, the military or relocated out of state from the small ranch home in Fair Oaks, CA.

Geraldine enjoyed cooking and baking for her family, especially at Easter and Christmas holidays. Gardening was an annual event Geraldine loved, especially in later years in Northern California. Vacationing in South Lake Tahoe was a place of peace and relaxation during her working years and retirement. Geraldine was an avid reader of fiction and read scripture daily. She truly cherished time with her friends, especially her beloved friends of many years in Wakefield. Always following and sharing the Lord's word were daily activities for Geraldine. In her retirement years, Geraldine left California and relocated to West Milton, Ohio for a quieter life with her daughter Wendy. They both enjoyed walking, gardening, cooking, dining, musicals, plays and travelling to California, Washington state, Massachusetts, Florida, and abroad to France, Italy, and Iceland.

Her eldest adopted son's, Philip and Michael, were blessed to have a profound young childhood maternal loss comforted by Geraldine through her great love and devotion. Her son Philip graduated high school valedictorian because of the gift of dedication and stability Geraldine unselfishly gave.

Geraldine was the devoted mother of Wendy Houghton of Yellow Springs, OH, Amanda Boyer of Longview, WA, Matthew Sirois and Philip Sirois of Palm Springs, CA, and Michael Sirois of Wilmington, MA. She was a loving grandmother to Elody Boyer of Longview, WA, and Alex Sirois of Wilmington, MA. She also leaves a cherished niece Rondah-Lyn of Dallas, TX, a cherished nephew, Joseph Petrucci of Amesbury, MA, and cherished lifelong childhood best friend Janice Bambury of Wakefield, MA.

Geraldine's love and spirit will live forever in the hearts of those that were blessed to know her and shared in her company.

The family would like to thank the team at Friends Care Community in Yellow Springs, OH for caring for and supporting Geraldine throughout her time there and their care and support during her final days.
