Fred E. Sevier, 72
of Stoneham, a retired engineer, died Sunday morning November 14, 2004 at the Bear Hill Nursing Center in Wakefield. Fred was born in Lafayette, NY, son of the late Ernest Sevier and Ellen (Williams) Sevier. He was raised in Lafayette, NY, graduated from Lafayette Central High School and Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY.He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Fred was employed at Draper Lab in Cambridge for 25 years creating electronic circuitry for power supplies, mainly for the department of defense. He was a life member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.Fred was a member of Trinity Church, Melrose and he was a Ham Radio Operator with the call letters W1DKC. Fred was a member of the American Radio Relay League (AARL). Fred was the husband of Trudy (Cole) Sevier and the father of Mark E. Sevier of Stoneham and the late Debbie J. Sevier. He was the brother of Doris Cross of Liverpool, NY, Ada Northrup of East Syracuse, NY and the late Grace Pemberton.Fred is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral Service at Trinity Church, 131 West Emerson St., Melrose Friday November 19, 2004 at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., MELROSE Thursday 4-8 PM.
Gifts in his memory may be made to the memorial fund at Trinity Church or to the American Parkinson Disease Association, 720 Harrison Ave. Suite 707, Boston, MA 02118 or to the Northshore Chapter of Compassionate Friends, 198 Locust St. Apt. 508, Lynn, MA 01904. Interment will be in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose, MA. Arrangements by Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St. Melrose, MA.
