Ernest W. Lord, Jr., 77 of Melrose died Saturday evening December 4, 2004 at the Academy Manor Nursing Home in Andover. Ernie was born September 5, 1927 in Cambridge, son of the late Ernest W. Lord and Marion (Fowler) Lord. Ernie was a 51 year resident of Melrose and served in the United States Navy during WWII.Ernie was an Engineer for 37 years in "classified projects" at General Electric (Riverworks Plant) in Lynn, MA.He was a member of Fidelity Lodge AF&AM, Melrose and the Order of Demolay, a Boy Scout leader and he enjoyed golf, skiing, roller skating and ballroom dancing.
Ernie was the husband of the late Lorraine M. (Mahoney) Lord.Father of Lorayne M. Chapman of Melrose, Thomas R. Lord and his wife, Rebecca of Campton, NH, Suzanne E. Michaud and her husband Walter of Haverhill, Ernest F. Lord and his wife Joyce of Reading, Carol A. Arvilla and her husband, Sonny of Gloucester and Nancy L. Lord-Fisher and her husband Edmund of Malden.Brother of Eleanor F. Edwards of Melrose, Gardner H. Lord of Wakefield and the late Priscilla Kilroe. He was also survived by 9 grandchildren, 1 great grandson and several nieces and nephews.
