Ernest Bernard Bodvar, age 70, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 21, 2026, in Beverly, Massachusetts.

Born on April 28, 1956, Ernest grew up in Malden, Massachusetts. He was a man who marched entirely to the beat of his own drum, choosing a simple life and remaining fiercely true to himself. Ernest was captivated by the motorcycle lifestyle and the free-spirited, rebellious culture that went with it. He also had a lifelong love of rock and roll music, which suited his independent spirit perfectly.

For Ernest, happiness could often be found in the simplest things. Give him a good movie and a cup of coffee, and he was content. He appreciated life's small comforts and never needed much to enjoy himself. Beneath his tough exterior, Ernest possessed a remarkably soft heart for animals, finding great comfort and companionship in them throughout his life.

Ernest also gave his time to others, volunteering at the Bread of Life in Malden, a community that had been his home for so much of his life.

Ernest was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Florence (Gordon) Bodvar and Ernest Bodvar; his brothers, Carl O. Bodvar and Wayne Bodvar; and many aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his loving niece, Hannah Jamie Bodvar; his great-niece, Lana Rae Travis; his sister-in-law, Melissa Bodvar; and many cousins.

At the family's request, funeral services will be private.
