Eleanora M. 'Ellie' or 'Babe' (Matthews) Barbour, of Malden, died Sunday, October 14, 2007 in Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, Melrose. She was 95 years old.
Her husband, Harry C. Barbour died many years ago. Her son, Jesse G. Rose, of Quincy, also died unexpectedly Sunday morning. She leaves a daughter, Beverly A. Binder and her husband, Richard, of Racine, Wisconsin; two daughters-in-law, Mary E. Rose of Malden and Marie Rose of Quincy. She also leaves eighteen grandchildren of the Binder and Rose families, many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was born in Scituate on February 2, 1912 a daughter to the late Howard and Catherine (Connolly) Matthews and lived many years in Scituate, over 33 years in South Boston and the last 5 years in Malden. She was predeceased by her other sons, John G. Rose and Robert E. Rose; her brothers, William and Leo ''Dick'' Matthews.
'Ellie' worked as a waitress for many years at the former Bradford Hotel in Boston.
