Mrs. Gilbert was born June 8, 1907 in Everett, MA, daughter of the late Robert E. Hutchinson and E. Maude (Hazzard) Hutchinson.
Doris was raised in Melrose and graduated from Melrose High School.She graduated from the Salem Normal School.From 1928 until 1973, she worked at the Hayden Stone Company retiring as an Executive Secretary. For many years, she was a member of the Greenwood Union Church.Doris was a member of the Wheel at the Church and the Kosmos Club in Wakefield.She also loved knitting and doing crafts.
Doris was the beloved wife of the late Herbert L. "Gil" Gilbert.Loving sister of the late Robert L. Hutchinson.Cherished aunt of R. David Hutchinson and his wife, Carol A. of Middletown, RI, L. Bradley Hutchinson and his wife, Florence O. of Melrose and Donald A. Hutchinson and his wife, Phyllis of Melrose.Dear Great-aunt of Leslie DiMedia, Susan Okurowski, Linda Bulman, Mark Hutchinson, Erika Hutchinson and Darcy Hutchinson.Doris is also survived by 3 Great-grandnieces and 3 Great-grandnephews.
