Dennis P. Boucher

Dennis P. Boucher, a resident of Ware, Massachusetts, passed away at home on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at age 70.

Dennis was born in Waltham on September 15, 1952, one of three children of the late Albert and Margaret (LeBlanc) Boucher. Raised in Waltham, he graduated from Waltham High School, and received a degree in Engineering from Northeastern University. After graduation, he began a rewarding career as a Civil Engineer, working for 40 years for the engineering firm Fay, Spofford and Thorndike based in Burlington. Dennis enjoyed his work designing water distribution systems throughout New England.

When his children were young, Dennis served as a youth sports coach in Burlington, and continued his support as they grew up, never missing a game or sporting event for his children. Yearly trips to see family in New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island were a highlight. Later in life, he loved taking cruises in the Caribbean and summer vacations to Old Orchard Beach, Maine.

When time allowed, which was often, Dennis was on the golf course. He was an avid and passionate golfer who enjoyed the camaraderie with friends and family on the golf course. He played in weekly golf leagues for many years at Woburn Country Club with friends from work. He (begrudgingly) enjoyed boat rides on Beaver Lake with his family, always with a Diet Pepsi in hand. He enjoyed swimming, had an immense collection of records covering bands from the 60’s through the 80’s, but above all was always ready for his next round of golf.

Dennis was an easy going, positive and supportive presence when not scaring the grandchildren with his booming voice. He loved sweets, Chinese food, and his favorite potato Poutine. Always up for a good time, he loved being around his grandchildren, and enjoying a laugh. Dennis will be deeply missed, but his quiet, good nature, and love for family will be forever remembered.

Dennis was the beloved husband of Roberta “Bobbie” (Johnson) Boucher. Devoted father of Steve Boucher of Franklin, Jeff Boucher and his wife Brianne of Burlington, Lindsay LaCosse and her husband Todd of Willington, CT, Tom Boucher and his wife Brittany of Billerica, Kim Davis and her husband Ben of Ludlow, and Eric Carroll and his fiancée Tami Hobbs of Winsor, CT. Dear brother of Carol Gentile and her husband Bob of Ware, and the late Ronnie Boucher. Loving son-in-law of Roberta Johnson and the late Russell Johnson of Melrose. Cherished grandfather of Hailey, Olivia, Mia, Cam, Ashlyn, Zachary, Ava, Lucas, Molly, Annabelle, and Maddy. Dear uncle of Michael Gentile and Carrie Gentile.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to gather during visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose, on Tuesday, March 21 from 4-7pm, and again on Wednesday for his Funeral Service celebrated at 10am.
