Obituary

Constance E. "Connie" (Farnham) Millard, a longtime resident of Melrose, passed away peacefully at Winchester Hospital on Sunday, October 18, 2026, at the age of 95.

Connie was born in Belgrade Lakes, Maine, on September 28, 1931, one of four children of the late Irvin Farnham and Gladys (Moore) Farnham. Raised in Maine, she maintained a lifelong love of her Maine roots. She learned to swim in the Belgrade Lakes, participated in the Junior Olympics, and later shared her love of swimming by teaching her children and grandchildren.

Family was the center of Connie's life. She worked for many years as a home health aide, but her greatest pride was being a mother and grandmother. She loved hosting Sunday dinners, where family gathered to enjoy her famous fried chicken, followed by games of cribbage or poker. A natural storyteller, Connie delighted in sharing family stories with anyone willing to listen.

Known for her remarkable strength and resilience, Connie persevered through numerous health challenges throughout her life. She will be remembered for her unwavering love of family, connection to her roots in Belgrade Lakes, and the strength of character that inspired those around her. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, and all who knew and loved her.

Connie was the beloved wife of the late Raymond Millard. Devoted mother of Corinne Palmer and her husband James Rosa of Melrose, Ann Johnson of Melrose, and the late Catherine Fiore, Norman Palmer, Cynthia Gordon, John Gordon, and Nancy Gordon. Dear sister of Marion Kenyon of Waterville, ME, and the late Beverly Young, and Malcolm Farnham. Cherished grandmother of Scott Palmer of Miami, FL, Wayne Johnson of Stoughton, Raymond Gordon of TX, and Paul Fiore of Saugus. Loving great-grandmother of Feliks and Leah Johnson of Melrose. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Services will be private.
