Beverly R. (Rouillard) Schluntz, formerly longtime resident of Melrose passed away peacefully in York, Maine on Sunday, June 8, 2025 surrounded by her loving family, at age 92.
Beverly was born on January 22, 1933 in Malden, daughter of the late Walter L. Rouillard and Clara Peterson. She was raised in Malden where she graduated from Malden High School. Growing up in Malden, she met her future husband, Roy A. Schluntz at Maplewood Baptist Church. They were married on June 21, 1952 and settled in Melrose to raise a family of six children.
Centering her life around her Church, Beverly was an over 50-year member of the First Baptist Church in Melrose. Strong and outgoing, Beverly contributed to the Church efforts to help those in need. Active in every aspect of Church life, she helped organize the Church Fair every fall and supported Potluck Dinners, Pancake Breakfasts, and everything in between. She was also a member of the Diaconate, and directed the Pantry of Hope for many years. Compassionate and creative, Beverly used her excellent skills as a seamstress to knit clothing and prayer shawls for others.
Always well put together, Beverly had an eye for fashion and was well traveled. In her free time, she loved needle art, cross stitch, crochet, and knitting. Beverly loved her home of over 50 years on Malvern Street, but always had a deep connection to North Berwick, Maine where she spent every summer on the family farm and made many cherished memories.
Beverly will be sorely missed, but always lovingly remembered for her love of family, her Church and her compassion for others.
