Beatrice A. Galenius (Brennan), age 91, of Saugus died on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at the Jeffrey and Susan Brudnick Center for Living in Peabody.
Born in Boston on March 21, 1934 and lived in Golden Hills in Saugus for most of her life.
She was the daughter of the late George and Ellen (Leary) Brennan. Former wife of Norman Galenius and John Babineau. Sister of Maryellen Grace and her husband Fred of Stoneham, the late Dorothy Maher, Francis Brennan and Eleanor Caswell. Mother of Catherine Galenius of Saugus and the late John Galenius. Grandmother of Kimberly Davis of Ipswich and Heidi Zaza and her husband Joseph of Reading. She had four great grandchildren. She was aunt and great aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Bea was a friend of Bill W. for over 60 years and helped many people in both her personal and professional life. She was house manager at the Groveland Manor in Melrose and went on to earned her CADAC and LADC. She worked as an addiction counselor at Central Hospital, Saugus General Hospital, and New England Memorial Hospital. She was very proud of her many years working as house manager/director at Eastern Middlesex Alcoholic Services in Malden and Project Cope in Lynn. The lives she impacted can not be measured. Upon her retirement in her 70's she took a job at Target in Saugus where she worked for several more years.
Bea loved her family and her dogs. She was passionate about helping people but she also enjoyed her days on Revere Beach and trips to Aruba and Florida. She loved dancing, bowling, bird watching and poking around the local stores.
The family is grateful for the wonderful care she received from the Berkley staff at the Brudnick Center.
