Years ago, people thought that choosing cremation meant they could not have a traditional funeral service. This is not true. Today’s contemporary funeral traditions provide many dignified and loving alternatives for tribute and commemoration.
For example, cremated remains can be placed in a vault or other appropriate container and either returned to the family or interred in a special mausoleum. If the cremated remains are placed in a cemetery, a service at interment is often very meaningful. Many families choose a memorial service, with a memory table or other personalization options that help tell the story of the life that has been lived. Cremated remains may also be scattered in a place that has special meaning.
